Charleston, W. Va. -- The West Virginia Division of Tourism has released a new brochure that promotes Civil War sites throughout the state. The brochure which fold outs into a large map of West Virginia detailing the state's major Civil War sites, was officially introduced at a ceremony in Charleston on August 15, 1999.

Andre Nabors, Heritage Program Coordinator for the Division of Tourism, Bob Reintsema, Commissioner of the Division of Tourism, and Katherine Jourdan, representing Renay Conlin, Commissioner of the Division of Culture and History, made the announcement on the steps of the historic Craik-Patton House. Katherine Jourdan read a proclamation from Gov. Cecil H. Underwood, declaring the day as "Civil War Heritage Day" throughout the state.
